And then once that news broke, Ron DeSantis goes out in a press conference and he says they’re manufacturing that to try to create a narrative. And then a spokesperson came out, Manny Diaz, or he said, this is actually a commissioner of education. Manny Diaz said, oh, that’s fake news about Roberto Clemente’s book. He said, Florida does not ban books in this particular book on baseball legend. Roberto Clemente is currently on school bookshelves across the state, except that it’s not because Manny Diaz is an effing liar, just like Ron DeSantis, because the Roberto Clemente biography has not yet been approved by the state. So Manny Diaz came out last week and told a blatant lie to everyone in this country to defend his bigoted boss Ron DeSantis. And it gets worse. I’m sure by now, most people have seen that viral video of that, uh, public school library where all the shelves are just empty. And right wingers are saying, oh, this is staged. Obviously this didn’t happen. They didn’t pull all the books outta the library. It was a substitute teacher that took that video. Ron DeSantis also called that out in last week’s press conference. The next day, that substitute teacher got an email pretty much an automated email letting him know that he had been fired. You’re not welcome back in our school. Get the hell outta here. And of course, it’s because he was specifically called out by Ron DeSantis last week. So the news of the firing came out this week and fact checkers, including, uh, uh, journalist Judd Legum, decided to do the legwork and find out, is this video real? Did this really happen in the library? And the uh, short answer is yes, actually it did because that video was taken immediately after the school had to pull all the books off the shelves so that they could be reviewed because they had not been reviewed and approved to go back on the shelves yet. So the video was a hundred percent accurate. The testimony in the video was a hundred percent accurate. Ron DeSantis once again lied to the American public about his horrible backwards policies, and the teacher was fired for exposing the truth. Now, the substitute teacher says he’s not done. He’s gonna continue to expose Ron DeSantis. And I hope that that substitute teacher along with other teachers here in the state of Florida, I hope y’all continue to do the same thing because this is not a stunt, this is not being done just to make Ron DeSantis look bad as he claims.
