Trump Claims DeSantis Enjoys Pushing Elderly People In Wheelchairs ‘Off A Cliff’

Donald Trump’s team has a five-point plan to attack Ron DeSantis, and so far the attacks are about as brutal as you could imagine. Trump put out a post on Truth Social last week claiming that Ron DeSantis enjoys pushing elderly people in wheelchairs “off a cliff” because he has a history of voting for cuts to Social Security and Medicare. The statement was a metaphor, but the imagery is pretty powerful, as Farron Cousins explains. Sometimes I come across a headline that’s so great that I just absolutely cannot help myself but to talk about this story. The headline that I’m talking about is from Vanity Fair, and a couple days ago, vanity Fair read in this headline, Donald Trump claims Ron DeSantis gets off on killing old people in wheelchairs. Now obviously you see that title, you’re gonna click on it because holy crap, what really? And uh, they’re referring to a truth social post that Donald Trump had made last week attacking Ron DeSantis for his history. And he’s got a pretty big history of it, of trying to cut Social Security and Medicare. See, Trump is trying to emerge as the anti cutting social security and Medicare guy. You know, he understands in a way that apparently most conservatives don’t, that your largest voting block for the Republican party is elderly voters on social security and Medicare. So campaigning on cutting that, which is exactly what Rick Scott’s doing in his reelection down here in Florida, um, that’s not smart. And as bad as I think Trump is at politics, at least he understands, wait a minute, it’s stupid for Republicans to do this. Why don’t I run on the opposite and then attack the other Republicans who actually want to do it? That’s a smart tactic. And Ron DeSantis, when he was in the US House of Representatives on multiple different occasions, either voted for or openly suggested in the media that we should cut, restructure, do whatever we need to, to reduce entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare. So Trump’s got him on that. He’s not wrong, but did he really say that Ron DeSantis enjoys pushing people in wheelchair off cliffs? Well, here’s that truth. Social post I mentioned great poll numbers are springing forth for your favorite president. Me against Ron DeSantis and Biden, I guess people are finding out that he wanted to cut Social security and raise the minimum age to at least 70, at least four times. Likewise, with Medicare wanted big cuts. He is a wheelchair over the cliff kind of guy, just like his hero failed politician. Paul Ryan, the Fox News ratings destroyer who led MIT Romney’s presidential campaign down the tubes, globalists all we want America first. Okay, so yeah, the end part a little weird, but I mean, he is a wheelchair over the cliff kind of guy. So, so Trump did say that. I mean, of course it’s a metaphor. I I, I don’t think any of us actually think Ron DeSantis has pushed elderly people in wheelchairs over a cliff. I mean, he is done a lot of e evil things. I I don’t have evidence that he hasn’t pushed people over a cliff, but I don’t have evidence that he has. So, again, I’m gonna assume it’s a Metaphor, but I’m not gonna put anything past Ron DeSantis either. No, I’m kidding. I don’t think he’s pushed anybody over a cliff, but this is the attack. And honestly, it’s a good attack. Like let’s just let ’em fight each other because it’s actually pretty good. And if it prevents the Republican party from cutting social security in Medicare, if it makes them abandon those plans, then that is a good thing. But Trump, according to reports out on Friday, has a five point plan to attack Ron DeSantis who has not declared he’s running for president. Okay, let’s, let’s be totally a hundred percent on that. Ron DeSantis has of right now is not, he’s definitely going to, I firmly believe that, but Trump’s trying to cause all of this damage before DeSantis can even announce. And if he can come with zingers like this, I mean that’s pretty good. That imagery, even though it is a metaphor, that imagery of Ron DeSantis pushing somebody in a wheelchair off a cliff that’s powerful is not bad. I gotta tell you wish I’d come up with it. But that’s what Trump is doing. It’s all part of the five point plan that he has. And so far seems to be off to a good start because he is also not wrong about his poll numbers. They’re going up, DeSantis is going down, so Trump’s attacks might be working.
